Steve Plachinski
Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. At Xavier, is majoring in Applied Physics with minors in Mathematics and Theology. In addition to the physical sciences, has a concentration in and passion for Asian history, world religions, and interreligious dialogue. Studied for a semester under theologian Dr. Paul Knitter, who shared his connections and experiences from Yogyakarta. This summer, examined interreligious dialogue in Yogyakarta from both an academic and experiential perspective, interacting with academics, students, NGO staff, religious leaders, and others. Plans to pursue graduate school in environmental science and continue an informal study of religion and dialogue.
